Incursions is a collaborative walking project based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, facilitated by Archie Smith and Kitty McKay. Through practices of psychogeography, social engagement, participatory research, archiving, mapping and friendship, Incursions attempts to shift dominant neoliberal narratives of space and place, to co-author new ‘counter-narratives’ about how we inhabit urban environments and build active solidarities.
Incursions’ regular group walks form part of a broader research project that utilises radio and sound production, filmmaking and writing as both research and practice methods.
